Descriptions and Schedule:
Each ongoing Yoga, Pilates, and Meditation class on schedule below is priced according to individual studios. For pricing of privates and semi-privates, please click on Services.
Yoga:
Yoga is an inner and outer experience where we learn to harmonize the body and mind through consciousness of breath and body sensation. It also helps cultivate life force energy
via breathing practices called Pranayam and incorporates body awareness
by utilizing movements and postures called asanas. We are reminded to
slow down and really experience where we are. We sweat and detox. We
learn to feel and honor each part of our experience in the body. We
also gain mobility, strength, confidence, connection, and greater peace
within.
Where to begin:
Beginning Yoga: In this class you will learn foundation, proper alignment, and breathing techniques at a slower pace than a Mixed Levels Class. More challenging options will always be given to more experienced practitioners. You will sweat, listen to spiritual poetry, and laugh while learning to relax and connect.
Mixed Levels Yoga: This class is directed towards more intermediate practitioners. We will flow through sun salutations while integrating breath, movement, inner and outer alignment, strength and flexibility. Students are encouraged to move at their own pace and take breaks. Sometimes sessions are accompanied by music for a rejuvenating and balancing effect. Other time, we practice in silence and hear the music of our breath. You will sweat, deepen your awareness, create a practice, and play. Strong beginners are welcome.
Long Relaxation periods always given at the end of all yoga classes!
Pilates Mat Work: Students learn to create a foundation of strength, mobility, and coordination for abdominal and core control in order to sustain a strong, stable, lean, and healthy body.
Pilates Equipment Work: Students are taught privately or semi-privately which allows the student to work on strengthening and realigning the body in a non-weight bearing way with various levels of resistance and progressive challenge. (See Services for more details).
